Symbolic Map

Picture
About this project:

This is a map that represents with images my biography. Every geographical feature is a symbol for something or someone thats been important along the years of my life. One and each symbol has also symbolic quantities.
The materials that were used to create this project were quite elementary. The list of materials include watercolors, paintbrushes, black marker, the cardboard and lots of creativity

Mountain:
The mountain that is imposes itself on the top center of the map represents my enthusiasm and afection towards nature. The mountain is covered with 15 green bushes, wich represent my 15 years of life on the mountain. Since from really young my interaction with such has been present.

Red X:
There are black traces of shoes that start in a small yellow x on the beach. The traces prints en on the big red x on the right top corner of the map. This path formed by the shoe traces means my walk of life. Starting on Ecuador and finishing on Spain. My grand parents where from Barcelona and for me knowing your family history is extremely important.

Reflection:
Looking at my final product there are definitely some things I would remove and others that I will add. I will remove the pond, the reason will be I dont actually know why it is there. Something I will add will be my dogs and more people. I have lost the death of a dear dog of mine in the month of January. Like they say you dont know what you have untill you lost it. Something I am proud of will be the blending of colors and the shades I have created. Though I had to restore the map several times due to accidents with the water cups falling on my work, I think the final product will be exceptionally good.

Semestral Exam Project

Picture
About this project:
As it shapes are not exactly define nor clear this drawing could belong to the category of abstract. It consist of following a list of items that the drawing has to include but each drawing turns up in a different way. All the knowledge of my first semester is reflected on this project. The inside of the different shapes that are formed are colored with different patters. Diffumination of color, points, lines, zig zag and eccentric patterns fill them. The matterials that were used to create all this vibrant patterns include sharpie markers, pencil color and crayon.

Reflection:
Many things can be improved in this drawing, including detals and creativity. As I took time to analyze the final work I realized that patterns are often repeated. That gives a certain image of lack of creativity. I could have defenetly put much more new patterns that will give an air of freshness to the drawing itself. Making sure that every small detail is perfect is extremely important on a work of arte, does not matter if it is big or small. There are some designs that require more detail. for example the diamond shaped pattern in the center could have been much more elaborated.

Guess The Character

Picture
About this project:
As a conclusion, that can be drawn from the title of the drawing, one thinks the picture has to be from someone. Indeed, it is. It is a portrait of Salvador Dalí, famous paintor. He is known for his surreal images and bizare perceptions. Born in Spain, studied in Madrid, Dalí's most famous painting will be the one with the clocks melted. but what is not well known of Dalí is that he actually loved to make self- portraits. In fact his first "important" work of art was made when he was 17 years old, and obviously was a portrait of himself. I made him wiht only one eye visible and almond shaped because in his self.pictures he offten appeared with the eyes wide open and round. Thus distinguishing this portrait from the others. One obvious characteristic of Dalí, himself, will be the mustach. As extremely famous for his paintings he was also recognise for the peculiar shape of the mustash. The only materials that where used to create the picture like this were ink, toothpick and paper.

Reflection:
The goal of this drawing was creating a different way of perception of the image of Salcador Dalí. Something I found extremely fun is looking at the mustach, bizarre as himself. Though Im very proud of it as I see it I found contradictions. Mantaining it simple was something relevant and a must for this drawing. But I think it is too simple, somethings missing. Though this thoughts overwellm my head as I analyze the drawing a conclusion came to my mind. For being the first time in my entire life using ink, it a pretty good drawing.
